What is a Doula?
Somebody who supports a family during the childbearing year, from conception until up to 3 months after the baby is born. I can offer to support you either as a birth doula, or purely as a prenatally or postnatally.
What do I offer?
As birth doula I will offer you support during throughout pregnancy. I visit you in your home and spend time getting to know you, I love to find out what makes you tick, so I can tailor the support I give in an individual way. We can spend time debriefing your previous birth experiences, looking at other things that have influenced your feelings about birth. We can chat about you hopes and fears, the choices you have, and I can help you with making a birth plan. Of course I will be with you at your birth regardless of where it happens, and be there to support you in the immediate postnatal period. I am passionate about helping families at this magical but vulnerable time, in emotional and practical ways.
My Birth Doula package.
- 3 prenatal visits in your home
- 4 weeks on call 24/7 from 38-42weeks
- Support via phone, email and text from booking until our last visit.
- Me at your BIRTH! regardless of when and where it happens.
- 1 postnatal visit
- All my mileage* and other expenses.
“The space in between” day of relaxation package
For any pregnancy past 40weeks! An long session including:
- Tea, cake and a long chat about your feelings as you wait for your baby.
- Discussion about natural induction methods.

Support when YOU need it. Pregnancy can sometimes be challenging, particularly if you are suffering with a pre existing health condition, or pregnancy has caused you to become unwell such as with SPD. Also hormones could make you emotional and tired.
This can all become too much, and a helping hand with day to day stuff could be ideal.
Ideas of how a Prenatal Doula can help you:
- looking after a toddler
- running errands
- someone to chat with about the pregnancy over a cuppa
- birth planning
- dog walking
- attending hospital appointments
- hire of equipment or books
Rate £14ph plus mileage and expenses.
This is an last minute birth support offer for people already in labour (or being induced or having an unexpected caesarean) who need extra support. For example if your expected birth partner is ill or can’t attend the birth, or if your birth plans have changed unexpectedly. You can call me and if I am available I can come and support you. I will also provide one postnatal session. This package is only available for people I already know, and there is no guarantee that I can help if I am busy.
£350 (all inc)
What does a Postnatal Doula do?
If you do not wish to have me at your birth, but feel that you would benefit from support afterwards, I can offer you postnatal services. This is a precious time as you take time to fall in love with your newborn. Many new parents feel overwhelmed and need help with basic practical things, such as washing up and cooking. I am also a trained breastfeeding peer supporter with 4 years experience. Therefore I can help with breastfeeding, and signpost you to good up to date information and professional help if needed.
Postnatal support is £14ph plus mileage at 45p per mile.
If you feel like you might like a doula I am happy to have a free non obligatory preliminary interview. A lovely opportunity for us to meet, and for you to decide if I am the right fit for your family as you grow.
*little note, if you live more than 20miles away I will have to add a little more more mileage to cover my costs. To be discussed when we meet.
